Good morning all! I trust that many of you attended fun Super Bowl parties last night and hopefully you also got to eat some great food. My husband and I traveled to Madison over the weekend to reunite with old college friends and watch the big game. And we even got to shop at a huge grocery store, allowing us to stock up on exotic ethnic food items we can’t find in our home town grocery stores.
We definitely ate some great food over the weekend. We ended up cooking and going out to eat about an equal amount, but the cooking was a bit more fun. In fact, one cooking adventure in particular I would like to highlight here because it even got my husband involved.
He recently purchased the amazing little cookbook, Artisan Bread in 5 Minutes a Day. So far he’s been the exclusive user of this cookbook and has made several different homemade breads. And I’ve enjoyed being on the receiving end very much indeed!!
He ended up bringing the book along this past weekend and we attempted to make homemade calzones. All I have to say is, YUM! We brought home leftovers too because they were massive. I highly recommend the book…the recipes are easy and the dough is actually fairly healthy (no fat or low fat).
Other than that, I don’t have any more interesting stories to share from this past week of cooking because the meals I did prepare were just easy ones (hamburgers and pizza). However this week I’m excited to try two new recipes. So let’s get right to it!!
Taco Pie (NEW)
Thai Noodles (NEW)
Chicken Parmesan with Pasta, Green Beans, and Garlic Bread
